NSUI Alleges Irregularities in Appointments

The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, demanding a fair investigation into alleged irregularities concerning appointments to the post of Junior Stenographer during the year 2012-13. The organization alleges a lack of transparency and violation of rules in the recruitment process.

Demand for High-Level Inquiry

Led by state secretaries Ejaz Ansari and Prateek Gautam, the NSUI requested a thorough and high-level inquiry into all relevant records pertaining to appointments made under advertisement number 990, dated June 19, 2013. Student leaders claim serious errors may have occurred in adhering to eligibility criteria, reservation rosters, and salary scale determination during the recruitment.

Questions Raised Over Appointment Process

The NSUI emphasized that appointments in educational institutions must be completely transparent and follow due process. The organization believes that if the investigation proves violations of rules, those appointments should be reviewed. Furthermore, strict action, as per rules, should be ensured against officials found responsible for these irregularities to prevent future occurrences.

Student leaders argue that a fair investigation will establish the accountability of the university administration and reveal the truth behind the discrepancies in the recruitment process. Several NSUI workers, including Anurag Shukla, Waqar Rain, Adeel Sayyed, Sameer Ansari, Asadak Anwar, Yug Thakur, Nikhil Vanshkar, Sonu Barman, Ankit Suryavanshi, Bholu Thakur, Arun Biltare, and Abhishek Kurmi, were present when the memorandum was submitted.

University Administration Assures Action

The university administration has received the memorandum and, understanding the sensitivity of the matter, has assured that the appropriate procedure will be followed regarding the investigation. All eyes are now on the results of the inquiry to be conducted by the university administration, which will clarify the actual flaws in the recruitment process and the actions to be taken against the culprits.
