NDPS Act Fugitive Arrested From Odisha After Two Years, Car Seized

Key Accused in NDPS Case Apprehended in Odisha

The Gohad Chowk police station has successfully arrested a major accused in an NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act case, who had been on the run for two years. The police have also seized the car used by the accused in the incident.

This operation marks a significant success for the police in their ongoing campaign against drug trafficking. The case dates back to a previous day when police, during vehicle checking on the Bhind-Gwalior highway in front of the Gohad Chowk police station, recovered 82.174 kilograms of illegal cannabis from a vehicle.

While five accused were arrested in that case, several individuals had managed to evade capture and remained absconding. Given the quantity of seized cannabis and the severity of the crime, Superintendent of Police Bhind, Suraj Kumar Verma, and Additional Superintendent of Police, Pradeep Patel, had issued immediate orders for the arrest of the absconding culprits.

Special Team Constituted for Fugitive's Capture

Under the guidance of SDOP Gohad, Mahendra Gautam, the Station House Officer of Gohad Chowk formed a special team to hunt for the absconding accused. The team initiated action based on technical evidence and other crucial leads gathered during the investigation of the case.

On Saturday, acting on information obtained during the investigation, the police team apprehended the main accused in Naurangpur, Rayagada district, Odisha. The police also recovered the Creta car from the accused, which was used in the commission of the crime.

The search for three other accused in this arrest-related case is still ongoing. The police have obtained significant leads regarding them, and efforts to apprehend them have been intensified.

The operation involved the crucial contributions of Inspector Ramnaresh Yadav, Sub-Inspector Madan Singh, Satyaveer Singh (Cyber Cell Bhind), Head Constable Mahesh Singh (Cyber Cell Bhind), Constable Rahul Yadav (Cyber Cell Bhind), Constable Veer bhan Singh, and Constable Hotam Singh.
