Intensive Inspection Drive Yields Seizures and Warnings

In line with the directives of Collector Somesh Mishra, Narmadapuram's Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Pramod Kapase has launched an intensive inspection campaign targeting passenger buses and ambulance services. The operation focused on the district hospital premises and the city's bus stand, where the transport department team meticulously checked compliance with safety standards and regulations.

During the inspection, several irregularities were identified, prompting immediate action from the department. RTO Pramod Kapase conducted a surprise night inspection, issuing a strict warning to ambulance operators against overcharging patients and their families beyond the prescribed rates. He emphasized that a humanitarian approach is paramount in emergency services and any form of irregularity will not be tolerated.

Ambulance Fitness Questioned, Penalties Levied

The inspection revealed an invalid fitness certificate for one ambulance, leading to immediate challan action and punitive measures against the vehicle. This action underscores the department's commitment to ensuring the roadworthiness and legality of all emergency service vehicles operating within the district.

Passenger Buses Face Scrutiny, Two Seized

The second phase of the inspection concentrated on the bus stand, where the transport department team rigorously assessed the safety arrangements of passenger buses. This included a thorough inspection of fire extinguishers, the condition of medical kits, the functionality of emergency exits, and the validity of bus documents.

In cases of disregard for safety standards and violations of regulations, the department took punitive action against two passenger buses. One bus was found to have pending tax payments, a serious breach of transport rules. The second bus lacked the necessary valid permits, raising questions about its operational legitimacy.

Due to these serious violations of rules, the transport department immediately seized both buses on the spot. RTO Pramod Kapase has clearly instructed bus operators to ensure full and mandatory compliance with all necessary safety standards and transport regulations in the future. This sudden and strict action has caused a stir within the entire transport system, prompting other bus operators to adhere to the rules.
