Narmadapuram Gears Up for Grand 18-Day Shriram Leela Festival
A grand 18-day Shriram Leela festival is planned in Narmadapuram from October 5-23, with detailed preparations underway.

Festival Outline Finalized
Narmadapuram is set to host a magnificent Shriram Leela festival this year, with the detailed outline for the 18-day event, running from October 5 to October 23, now finalized. Discussions on the budget and other crucial aspects for a successful organization were held during the festival committee's annual meeting.
Event Schedule and Locations
According to festival committee convenor Prashant Munnu Dubey, the event will take place at Sethani Ghat and Dussehra Maidan, opposite the ancient Narmada Temple. The staging of various episodes of Lord Rama's life will be held at Sethani Ghat until October 16. Following this, the battles between Rama and Ravana, and events related to Vijayadashami, will be performed at Dussehra Maidan.
Prior to the festival's conclusion, episodes such as the Bharat Milap (reunion of brothers) and the coronation of Lord Rama will be re-staged at Sethani Ghat.
Grand Procession and Devotional Night Planned
This year's festival includes plans for a grand procession of Lord Rama through the city's main routes, with extensive preparations underway. Additionally, a large devotional singing night dedicated to the Goddess (Devi Jagran) is proposed for the night of Dussehra. Committee members have offered significant suggestions to make these events even more dignified.
Committee Meeting and Budget Approval
The committee meeting, presided over by Pt. Girija Shankar Sharma, reviewed the income and expenditure statements for the fiscal year 2025-26 and set the budget for the 2026-27 event. Several prominent individuals attended the meeting, including former Zila Panchayat President Pt. Bhavani Shankar Sharma, Janpad President Bhupendra Chouksey, senior advocate BK Chauhan, Pt. Gopal Prasad Khaddar, Rakesh Faujdar, Mahendra Chouksey, Municipal Vice President Abhay Verma, Manager Arun Sharma, Secretary Yogeshwar Tiwari, Councillor Narendra Patel, and Pt. Sunil Chaure, along with many members of the Shriram Leela family.
The committee has resolved to ensure the active participation of all members to make the organization grand and successful.
