MP Police Seize Drugs Worth ₹96 Lakh in 3 Days, Tighten Grip on Traffickers

In a major success against the illegal drug trade, Madhya Pradesh Police have achieved significant breakthroughs over the past three days. Across various districts, police have seized illegal narcotics valued at over ₹96.41 lakh, along with vehicles used in trafficking and other assets.

Several interstate traffickers, attempting to expand their drug network within the state, have also been apprehended. A statement from the Police Headquarters, Madhya Pradesh, confirmed that this action is part of a continuous 'zero tolerance' policy against narcotics.

The police aim not only to seize these substances but also to identify and take stringent legal action against the root of these trafficking networks.

Major Recoveries Across Districts

In Mandsaur district, the Bhaisodāmandi police post in Bhanpura arrested two interstate traffickers and seized 160 grams of MD, 6.8 kg of doda-chura, and a motorcycle, with an estimated value of approximately ₹16.83 lakh.

Furthermore, Shamgarh police seized 100 kg of doda-chura from a Bolero pickup vehicle, valued at approximately ₹10 lakh. The Nayi Abadi police also seized MD drugs and doda-chura, confiscating assets worth around ₹10.90 lakh.

Cumulatively, Mandsaur district saw the seizure of narcotics and other assets exceeding ₹37.73 lakh.

In Neemuch district, within the Ratangarh police station area, police confiscated 1 quintal and 41 kg of illegal doda-chura, assessed at ₹21.27 lakh. One accused was arrested in this case.

Action Under Operation Prahar

Under 'Operation Prahar' in the Khategaon area of Dewas district, police raided a warehouse in the grain market and arrested four individuals. They seized 24 grams of brown sugar, valued at ₹2.40 lakh.

In Guna district, under the Mrigwas police station, two accused were apprehended while smuggling smack from Rajasthan. Police seized 50.86 grams of smack and a motorcycle used for trafficking, with a total estimated value of approximately ₹6 lakh.

Recovery of Ganja and Brown Sugar

In Singrauli district, Chitrangi police seized 11 green ganja plants illegally cultivated within the boundary of a house. These plants, weighing 8.2 kg, are estimated to be worth ₹1.20 lakh.

In Rewa district, under the Chorhata police station, a major operation was conducted as part of 'Operation Prahar 2.0'. Police seized 62.388 kg of ganja and arrested six individuals. Assets confiscated in this action include a Bolero, a Tata Bolt car, and 7 mobile phones, with a total value of approximately ₹22.73 lakh.

In Jabalpur district, a joint operation by the Crime Branch and Madan Mahal police led to the arrest of an individual involved in the illegal ganja trade. The accused was found with 10.168 kg of ganja, an Android mobile phone, and two bags, estimated to be worth ₹5.08.400.

Effort to Curb Networks

The continuous actions by the Madhya Pradesh Police underscore the strong commitment of the state government and police administration towards tackling the illegal drug trade. Adhering to a 'zero tolerance' policy, police are not only apprehending small-time traffickers but also striving to expose larger networks pushing youth towards addiction.

These successes are expected to aid in breaking the supply chain of narcotics within the state.
