MP Police Intensify Anti-Drug Operations, Seize Contraband Worth ₹25 Lakh in Three Days

Madhya Pradesh Police have launched a significant crackdown on illicit drug trafficking and trade across the state as part of the statewide 'Nasha Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign. Over the past three days, police have confiscated narcotics, vehicles, and other related items valued at more than ₹25 lakh, leading to the arrest of several individuals involved in these illegal activities.

The campaign aims not only to raise awareness against drug abuse but also to dismantle the entire network of illegal drug operations. According to a press release from the Police Headquarters, Public Relations Cell, substantial quantities of dodachura, MDMA, and brown sugar were recovered from various districts during this special operation. Police have emphasized that no one involved in the illegal trade, trafficking, or supply chain of narcotics will be spared.

Key Arrests and Seizures Across Districts

In Mandsaur district, Sitaumau police, acting on an informant's tip, intercepted a car without a license plate and recovered 193 kg 920 grams of dodachura. This operation resulted in the seizure of assets worth approximately ₹8.87 lakh and the arrest of one suspect. Additionally, in the same district, Bhanpura police seized 170 grams of MDMA and 4.5 kilograms of dodachura, estimated to be worth around ₹1.88 lakh, apprehending two individuals.

In Vidisha district, the Kotwali police seized 80 grams of brown sugar, with an estimated value of nearly ₹10 lakh, and arrested two persons in connection with the recovery. Furthermore, police in the Maksi police station area of Shajapur district confiscated illegal smack valued at ₹4.80 lakh, apprehending two smugglers.

Public Participation and Future Actions

The 'Nasha Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign is focused on intensive and coordinated actions to disrupt the entire chain of the illegal drug trade, extending beyond mere awareness. It has been made clear that stringent legal action will be taken against anyone involved in the trafficking, storage, or sale of narcotic substances.

Police have also appealed to the public to promptly report any information regarding illegal drug activities to the local police. This public cooperation is crucial in achieving the goal of making the state free from drugs, safe, and healthy.
