Balaghat Police Sets World Record for Drug-Free Pledge

The 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign in Madhya Pradesh is gaining international recognition. In a significant achievement, Balaghat Police has been lauded globally for an innovative initiative aimed at raising awareness about drug de-addiction.

Balaghat Police established a new world record with a one-minute mass drug-free pledge, involving 1,25,000 students and over 5 lakh online participants. For this extraordinary public participation, the World Book of Records, London, has awarded the Balaghat Police a 'Certificate of Excellence'.

A Movement Beyond Administration

This accomplishment underscores the success of the campaign, which operates under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and the guidance of Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana. 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' has evolved from a mere administrative effort into a powerful social movement driven by public participation.

In a special event organized by the Balaghat Police, students from 1,204 schools in the district collectively pledged to stay away from drugs and to create a drug-free society. Additionally, over five lakh citizens expressed their commitment by joining the campaign online.

A New Chapter in Social Engagement

The Balaghat Police's initiative has set a new standard for public awareness and social commitment towards drug de-addiction. The massive participation of students and citizens in the one-minute mass pledge demonstrates growing societal vigilance against the ill effects of drugs.

Under the 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign, Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously organizing various activities statewide. These include drug-free pledges, awareness rallies, dialogue sessions, and sports and cultural competitions.

These programs, particularly focused on schools and colleges, aim to educate the younger generation about the harmful consequences of drug abuse and to involve them in building a healthy, safe, and drug-free Madhya Pradesh. Balaghat Police's unique achievement is a matter of pride for the entire state, reflecting the growing trust and collective resolve of citizens towards the campaign.

Other Districts Also Achieve Notable Successes

This is not the first time that the drug de-addiction initiatives of the Madhya Pradesh Police have received global recognition. Previously, Indore Police Commissionerate set a new world record by administering an e-pledge of drug de-addiction to 1,75,451 citizens simultaneously.

Furthermore, Indore Police broke their own previous world record by forming a human chain of 8,534 citizens, achieving the remarkable feat of establishing two world records in a single event. In a similar vein, Barwani Police organized drawing and slogan-writing competitions in government and private schools across the district, with messages of drug de-addiction depicted on 16,700 drawing sheets.

For this commendable work, the World Book of Records, London, also honored the Barwani Police with a medal and certificate. Meanwhile, Burhanpur Police facilitated the recognition of historic public participation by over 32,000 students from 113 schools who wrote and signed drug de-addiction messages with their own hands, also awarded by the World Book of Records, London.

Madhya Pradesh Police is appealing to the state's residents to actively join the 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign and become participants in building a drug-free society. This campaign also serves as an important platform to inspire youth to adopt a positive and healthy lifestyle.
