The Cliff News | Bamori | October 9, 2026 - In the Bamori police station area of Guna district, police have successfully apprehended Vitthal Meena, a proclaimed offender wanted in an old murder case and carrying a bounty of Rs 3,000. The arrest was made based on accurate tip-off information.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Hitzika Vasal, the Bamori police station conducted this operation as part of a special campaign to apprehend absconding accused in serious crimes. The arrested accused, Vitthal Meena (35), had been on the run for the past three months in connection with a murder case and a reward of Rs 3,000 had been announced for his capture.

Details of the 2026 Murder Incident

The incident, which occurred on July 19, 2026, involves a fatal attack on Mishrilal Odia and his son Navab Odia, residents of Gram Bhurachak, by some accused from Gram Panchaura. The accused used lathis and axes in the assault. A case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at Bamori police station as Crime No. 168/26.

Son's Death During Treatment Leads to Murder Charge Addition

Following the attack, Navab Odia, who was critically injured, was undergoing treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment period. Subsequently, the police added the charge of murder under Section 103(1)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to the registered case.

Four Accused Already Imprisoned, Search for Remaining Continues

The police acted swiftly after the incident and arrested four other accused in the case on July 23, 2026, sending them to jail. However, two accused, Vitthal Meena and Ghanshyam Lodha, had been absconding since then. The police had announced a reward of Rs 3,000 each for the capture of these two absconding individuals.

Arrest Made on Tip-off

A special team constituted under the leadership of Bamori Station House Officer Machal Singh Mandelia apprehended the absconding wanted accused Vitthal Meena on October 9, 2026, based on precise information received from an informant. The role of the station staff and the cyber cell was particularly appreciated in this effective operation.

Search for the Sole Remaining Accused Underway

Police are now actively searching for the remaining absconding accused, identified as Ghanshyam Lodha. Police are confident of arresting the final accused soon. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and police efforts to maintain law and order are continuing.
