The Madhya Pradesh Police have conducted a significant operation against drug trafficking, illegal transportation, and sale. Over the past two days, police in various districts across the state seized a total of 113 kilograms and 870 grams of illegal narcotic substances, with an estimated value exceeding 54 lakh rupees. Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with these seizures.

According to information released by the Police Headquarters, this action is being carried out under a 'Zero Tolerance' policy. The police aim to identify the entire network involved in drug trafficking and ensure strict legal action against them.

Major Opium and MD Drugs Seized in Mandsaur

In the Mandsaur district, police executed two separate operations. At the Bypass intersection near the Dudhakhedi Mataji temple, police arrested two individuals and seized 6 kilograms and 82 grams of opium, estimated to be worth 12 lakh rupees. In a similar operation, Afzalpur police arrested one accused near Palwai phante.

From this accused, 260 grams of MD drugs, valued at 26 lakh rupees, and 5 kilograms and 150 grams of poppy straw (dodachura), worth 10,000 rupees, were confiscated. In total, these two operations in Mandsaur district resulted in the seizure of 11 kilograms and 492 grams of narcotic substances, with a combined value of 38 lakh rupees.

Ganja Trafficking Uncovered in Balaghat

In the Balaghat district, Lonji police acted on a tip-off regarding ganja (cannabis) smuggling. During this operation, police arrested four individuals and seized 27 kilograms and 378 grams of illegal ganja, with an estimated value of approximately 14 lakh rupees.

75 kg of Poppy Straw Seized in Ujjain

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Ujjain also took action against drug trafficking, arresting two female accused. The women were found transporting poppy straw hidden in a trolley and backpacks. Police confiscated 75 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession, valued at an estimated 2 lakh rupees.

These actions by the Madhya Pradesh Police highlight their continuous and serious commitment against the illegal narcotics trade in the state. The police administration has assured strict action against all elements involved in such activities.
