The inclusion of A.V. Gayatri Shanthegowda in the cabinet is a significant political development. She contested the Legislative Council elections from the Chikmagalur Local Authorities constituency in 2022. Following a petition filed by her, the votes of nominated members were separated, and she was declared the winner. The Supreme Court also ruled that nominated members do not have the right to vote. This verdict led to Gayatri Shanthegowda's victory, and her subsequent appointment as a minister is a testament to her political capability and judicial triumph.
