Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered four individuals inside the residence suffering from fatal gunshot wounds, all of whom died at the scene.

The Search and Death of the Suspect

Authorities quickly identified the primary suspect as 52-year-old Ryan Willis McFarland, a resident of Muscatine.

McFarland had already fled the residence before officers arrived, leading police to immediately launch an intensive manhunt to track him down.

"Today I simply do not have the words -- this act of evil and what it has done to our community," Chief Kies shared.
