Indore GRP Honored by World Book of Records for Human Chain Across 16 Stations

International Recognition for De-Addiction Campaign

The 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' public awareness campaign, run by Madhya Pradesh Police, has achieved a significant international milestone. The Government Railway Police (GRP), Rail Unit Indore, has been honored by the World Book of Records, London (United Kingdom) for its historic feat of forming a human chain of 4,013 citizens simultaneously across 16 railway stations to spread the message of de-addiction.

This award symbolizes the international recognition of Madhya Pradesh Police's efforts to build a drug-free society through public participation. The human chain was organized on July 21, 2026, at 16 railway stations falling under the jurisdiction of Indore GRP.

Extensive Public Participation

The stations included: Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Nagda, Neemuch, Meghnagar, Shamgarh, Biaora, Guna, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Shajapur, Maksi, Dewas, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, and Chandravatiganj. A large number of participants, including school students, rail passengers, porters, railway vendors, sanitation workers, auto-rickshaw drivers, and people from various sections of society, took part in this event.

Spreading the De-Addiction Message

During the formation of the human chain, participants actively spread awareness about the severe consequences of drug abuse among the general public. They used inspiring slogans such as 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary,' 'Quit Drugs, Connect Lives,' and 'Healthy Youth, Empowered India.'

The objective of this initiative was to generate strong public awareness against drug abuse in society and to inspire people to refrain from its consumption. This initiative underscores the commitment to fostering a drug-free society through collective action.

Global Recognition and Previous Achievements

This is not the first time that Madhya Pradesh Police's 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign has received international recognition. Previously, similar public awareness programs organized by Indore (two achievements), Barwani, Burhanpur, and Balaghat have also been recognized as world records by the World Book of Records, London.

The latest honor received by the Indore GRP is further global proof of the innovative efforts of the Madhya Pradesh Police and the widespread participation of the state's residents in building a drug-free society.
