Influencer Jini Jhala Recounts Ordeal After Gas Blast

Jini Jhala, a prominent social media influencer also known as Giri Rajkumari, is currently in the ICU at Bombay Hospital, recovering from a harrowing gas pipeline explosion. The incident occurred on the evening of June 23 in Indore's Vijay Nagar area, leaving her with 20-25% burns.

From her hospital bed, Jini released a video detailing the accident. She described being engulfed in flames near Suman Nagar Jain Temple while on her two-wheeler. She claimed that despite her pleas,

"I told people to pour water on me, but no one came forward. Everyone was scared."

 

Displaying remarkable courage, Jini jumped into accumulated rainwater on the road to douse the flames herself. Her left arm was already severely burned when a passerby eventually helped her with two buckets of water. She later struggled to find transport, finally stopping a Rapido bike rider to reach the hospital.

Family Shares Concerns as Surgeries Continue

Rajat Pratap Singh, Jini's fiancé and a construction businessman, learned of the incident through other contacts while traveling. He confirmed the severity of her injuries, stating that two layers of her hand skin are completely burned, with the third layer also severely affected.

One surgery has been completed on her left hand, but Jini still requires three more surgeries. Doctors estimate that a full recovery could take three to four months.

Jini's parents, Naval Singh Jhala and Dharmendra Singh Jhala, have expressed deep concern. They noted that Bombay Hospital lacks a dedicated burn unit and have demanded that the administration arrange to airlift Jini to a burn unit hospital in Ahmedabad for specialized treatment.

Allegations of Unauthorised Boring and Delayed FIR

A significant controversy has emerged following the accident. Rajat Pratap Singh alleges that unauthorized boring work was being carried out locally, despite an administration ban on such activities until July 30. He claims to have filed a police complaint three times regarding the incident, but an FIR has not been registered even after two days.

Initially, Councillor Balmukund Soni stated that only water harvesting work was underway at the site. However, CCTV footage from the accident spot reportedly showed a driver quickly removing a boring machine. According to sources, the driver fled with the vehicle after the blast.

The police later seized the boring vehicle. Vijay Nagar TI Chandrakant Patel confirmed that information related to the Municipal Corporation has been sought, and further action will be taken based on their response.
