India’s ISRO Tests Next-Gen Reusable Heat Shield for Future Space Shuttle

ISRO has successfully tested a reusable thermal protection system (TPS) designed for its upcoming Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV).

The new heat shield can withstand extreme re-entry temperatures and may cut launch costs by 60–70%.

The test marks a major step in India’s plan to build its own spaceplane by 2032.
