In a significant crackdown on land encroachment in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, authorities have demolished an illegal Eidgah and its towering minaret. The structures were situated on government land designated for a graveyard in Madhan village.

The decisive action was carried out on Tuesday, following explicit orders from the Tehsildar court and the Judicial Magistrate. A substantial police presence ensured the smooth execution of the operation.

Court Orders Drive Enforcement

According to officials, approximately 70 square meters of government land, strategically located along the roadside and reserved for cemetery purposes, had been illegally occupied and built upon.

A team from the Revenue Department, led by Tehsildar Dhirendra Pratap Singh, alongside RFF personnel and local police, reached the site to commence the demolition. The illegal Eidgah structure and the minaret, estimated to be between 30 to 40 feet high, were brought down using bulldozers.

Land Grabbers Thwarted Under Religious Guise

Authorities stated that individuals involved in land mafias were allegedly using religious pretexts to illegally occupy and elevate the government land by dumping soil. The intention was reportedly to facilitate future plotting and sale of the encroached area.

"The encroachment has been removed in compliance with court orders, and the land has been freed and secured for its original purpose, i.e., use as a graveyard, as per revenue records."

The administration has issued a stern warning against any further illegal occupation or construction on government land. They have vowed to continue taking strict legal action against such violations in the future.

Adequate police forces were deployed during the operation to maintain peace and order. The entire process was completed peacefully, reinforcing the administration's commitment to upholding land laws.
