Hospital Erupts in Chaos Over Death of Known Criminal; Family Alleges Murder
Farrukhabad, August 4, 2026 - The Lohia Hospital in Farrukhabad witnessed significant unrest today when a known criminal, who was being treated for injuries sustained in a road accident, passed away. The deceased's family members caused a commotion at the hospital, leveling murder accusations against several individuals.
The family also accused the police of colluding with the alleged perpetrators. Following several hours of tense exchanges, police officials assured a fair investigation, which eventually calmed the situation. The police have completed the inquest of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Sons alias Bilaiya, 40, son of Ashok Kumar Sharma, a resident of Maseni Nagla village in the Qadiri Gate police station area, had sustained injuries in a road accident the previous day. He was admitted to Lohia Hospital for treatment. After initial medical attention, his family took him home.
Early this morning, around 4:40 AM, Sonu's brother, Jitendra, brought him back to Lohia Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The deceased's wife, Soni, was inconsolable.
Family Alleges Murder and Police Complicity
As the news of Sonu's death spread through the hospital, his family members became enraged. They immediately began protesting in the hospital premises, accusing certain individuals of murder. The family insisted that Sonu's death was not due to the road accident but a result of foul play.
They further alleged that the police were hand in glove with those responsible for the crime. A heated argument ensued between the police and the family for several hours within the hospital premises.
CO City's Intervention Calms Situation
Upon receiving information, CO City, Abhay Verma, arrived at the scene. He spoke with the family, assuring them of an impartial investigation and stern action against those found guilty. The family's anger subsided after the CO's assurances, and they permitted the body to be sent for post-mortem.
Over Two Dozen Criminal Cases Registered
According to information, the deceased, Sons alias Bilaiya, had approximately two dozen criminal cases registered against him across various police stations in the city. These included incidents such as firing at former student union president Dinesh Yadav alias Chunne on November 6, 2021; a scuffle and life-threatening attack during a dispute over parking a tempo at Maseni Chowk on March 4, 2021; and a dispute involving trader Devendra Singh Chauhan, which led to a fight, robbery, and firing on May 23, 2015.
The post-mortem examination of the body was conducted by a panel of doctors, including Dr. Saurabh Katiyar and Dr. Deepak Katiaria. Preliminary findings indicate that Sonu's death was caused by a severe head injury. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
