Health Services Strengthened at Flood Relief Camps; CMO Inspects

Farrukhabad, August 4, 2026 - In response to the flood situation in Farrukhabad, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Anand Upadhyay visited the relief camp established at Rahmani Inter College, following an inspection of relief camps by District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar. He conducted a comprehensive review of health services, medicine distribution, and preparedness for preventing infectious diseases at the camp.

Medical Team Conducts Health Check-ups and Treatment

As per the CMO's instructions, flood-affected individuals at the relief camp received medical examinations. Immediate first aid was provided to those suffering from common ailments such as colds, coughs, fever, skin diseases, and diarrhea. Patients requiring specialized care were promptly referred to higher medical facilities to ensure timely and better treatment.

Arrangements for Regular Health Service Monitoring

The Chief Medical Officer has made special arrangements to ensure the continuous operation of health services at the relief camp. This includes the deployment of a female doctor, a pediatrician, a senior physician, and an ambulance equipped with essential medicines. The CMO has directed this medical team to visit the relief camp twice daily to check on the health of all individuals. Immediate treatment and necessary control measures will be initiated upon detection of any symptoms of infectious diseases.

Special Focus on Preventing Infectious Diseases

Dr. Upadhyay stated that the health department is fully alert to the possibility of waterborne and infectious diseases spreading in flood-affected areas. Regular health monitoring of every individual residing in the relief camps will be conducted. The medical team and ambulance will remain on standby 24/7 to handle any emergency situation. He further instructed the medical team to emphasize public awareness regarding the availability of medicines, sanitation, quality of drinking water, and disease prevention, ensuring the safety and health of all camp residents.
