Sandipani School Concludes Guru Purnima Fortnight with Grand Ceremony

Guna, July 29, 2026 – A grand ceremony was held at Sandipani School in Guna to mark the conclusion of the Guru Purnima fortnight. The district-level event, spread across two phases, showcased various educational, cultural, yoga, sanitation, and awareness activities.

During the event, newly appointed teachers received their appointment letters, and principals who demonstrated outstanding performance were honored. The chief guest, Guna MLA Pannalal Shakya, emphasized the importance of education and character building in his address. He inspired students to choose the right path in life and work diligently with discipline.

“The aim of education is not just to score marks, but also to develop good values, wisdom, and character,” stated MLA Shakya.

Present at the ceremony were BJP District President Dharmendra Singh Sikarwar, Municipal President Savita Arvind Gupta, Vice President Dharam Soni, along with education department officials, teachers, students, and distinguished citizens.

New Teachers Appointed, Principals Honored

At the district-level concluding and honoring ceremony, newly appointed primary and secondary teachers from the district received their appointment letters from chief guest Pannalal Shakya and other dignitaries. Additionally, principals who achieved excellent results in recent examinations were felicitated.

This initiative boosted the morale of the teachers, encouraging them to perform better in their respective fields. The principal of Sandipani School provided information about the various activities conducted during the fortnight in his welcome address.

Focus on Respect, Discipline, and Skill Development

He explained that these activities aimed to foster respect for teachers, discipline, yoga, meditation, cleanliness, career awareness, and the development of cultural and creative talents among students. Municipal President Savita Arvind Gupta highlighted the importance of teachers and inspired students to be virtuous and respect their teachers and parents.

Municipal Vice President Dharam Soni expressed his respect for teachers on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.

Collector Guides Students, Emphasizes Guru-Disciple Tradition

In the second phase of the ceremony, Guna Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal visited Sandipani School. He underscored the significance of the Guru-disciple tradition on the occasion of Guru Purnima and interacted with students to boost their enthusiasm.

Collector Kanyal reviewed the student exhibition displayed on the school premises and appreciated their creative and innovative talents. Addressing the students, Collector Kanyal remarked, "It is fortunate to find a capable guru at the right time."

He described the concept of Sandipani schools as an important initiative to provide students with quality education and a better environment.

He informed that the government is investing millions of rupees in the development of each Sandipani school to provide students with a superior academic environment. Sharing his student life experiences, the Collector emphasized firm commitment to goals and working 'smartly' for success.

He added that choosing a good group of friends and a capable guru is crucial in life, as their influence can be positive or negative. He urged students to benefit from various government welfare schemes, such as laptop and bicycle distribution, and to build their futures.

Messages on Cyber Security, De-addiction, and Road Safety

Collector Kanyal advised students to be vigilant against cybercrimes and shared information about the cyber helpline 1930. He urged all students to pledge to stay away from drugs and to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers.

Also present at the event were SDM Shivani Pandey, District Education Officer Samar Singh Rathore, and Principal of Sandipani School Ashish Tantia, along with other officials. Throughout the event, retired teachers Asif Khan, Keshav Dubey, and Manohar Silawat were also honored with shawls and coconuts.

Guests and honored teachers were presented with a Tulsi sapling as a memento, conveying a message of environmental conservation. This dignified conclusion of the Guru Purnima fortnight further strengthened the sense of respect for teachers, values, discipline, and the spirit of continuous learning among students.
