Free Driving Licenses for Students, Rs 10,000 Fine for Buses Violating Rules
A special campaign in Narmadapuram district offered free learner's licenses to female students and imposed fines on buses found violating safety norms.

Narmadapuram District Launches Road Safety Awareness Campaign
As part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' (Service Commitment Campaign), the Transport Department is conducting special awareness programs in the Narmadapuram district. In a significant initiative, Regional Transport Officer Pramod Kapse organized a free driving license camp for female students at Kusum College in Seoni Malwa.
The campaign, running from September 17 to October 17, 2026, aims to educate the public on safe transportation and road safety. During this special camp, RTO Pramod Kapse provided detailed information to students on traffic rules, various aspects of road safety, and the importance of traffic signals.
Free Licenses and Safety Pledges
A total of sixty-five female students were distributed free learning licenses during the program, which instilled a sense of enthusiasm among them. After receiving their licenses, the RTO administered an oath to all students emphasizing the mandatory use of helmets, adherence to traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
Strict Action Against Bus Operators
Following the conclusion of the camp, Regional Transport Officer Pramod Kapse and Divisional Transport Safety Squad In-charge Shivani Mukati conducted a surprise inspection of the local bus stand. The primary objective of this inspection was to ensure compliance with safety standards on buses.
Officials instructed bus drivers to ensure the availability of fire extinguishers and first-aid kits in their vehicles. Furthermore, strict directives were issued against drunk driving, installing seats near emergency exits, and operating buses without all necessary documents. Upon finding serious deficiencies in safety standards during the inspection, the transport department levied a penalty of Rs 10,000 on the concerned bus operators.
Continued Enforcement for Passenger Safety
This swift and stringent action by the department has created a stir among bus operators. Officials have clarified that punitive actions against vehicles violating rules will continue in the future, prioritizing passenger safety and ensuring a smooth and secure transportation system.
