Kidnapping and Murder Plot Foiled in Bareilly
The Bithari Chainpur police station in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district has apprehended five suspects accused of conspiring to kidnap and murder a man. The incident, reported to have occurred on the night of October 14, 2026, involved the alleged abduction and assault of a young man named Monu Rathore, who was also threatened with death.
Monu Rathore managed to escape from the captors' clutches. Police interrogation revealed that the motive behind the conspiracy was an old feud. The main accused, Mahavir Rathore, suspected Monu's involvement in his son's arrest with illegal firearms, leading to the plan to teach Monu a lesson.
Arrests and Recoveries Made
Following a tip-off, police teams were formed to track the accused. On the morning of October 15, acting on specific information, police apprehended the five accused - identified as Mahavir Rathore, Brijesh, Dinesh, Manoj Valmiki, and Rishipal - near the water tank in Sector-11, Panchvati Enclave.
During the search, police recovered two country-made pistols, three live cartridges, and two knives from the accused. The silver-coloured Alto car used in the crime was also seized. Following these seizures, police have added sections of the Arms Act to the charges under the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
Investigation Underway
The seized car has been impounded under the Motor Vehicles Act. Led by Station House Officer Rajesh Babu Mishra, the police team is also investigating the criminal history of the arrested individuals. A case has been registered at the Bithari Chainpur police station based on Monu Rathore's complaint, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
