Fire Safety Training at Guna District Hospital

Guna, September 23, 2026 - A significant training session on fire safety was organized at the District Hospital in Guna. Under the direction of Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal, this special exercise aimed to teach all hospital staff how to handle emergency situations and respond swiftly in case of a fire.

The primary objective of this training is to ensure the safety of patients. The program, conducted under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer and Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajkumar Rishishwar, saw active participation from the Municipal Council's Fire Safety team. Hospital Assistant Manager Dr. Suraj Singh coordinated the training session.

Learning Modern Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Techniques

During the session, Shakeel Khan, a member of the Fire Safety team, provided effective methods for medical personnel to react immediately in the event of a fire. The hospital staff received detailed information on the safe and effective operation of various types of fire extinguishers, including ABC and carbon dioxide types.

Emphasis was also placed on the use of emergency exits (fire exits) and the importance of keeping emergency evacuation routes clear to prevent any untoward incidents during chaotic situations. The most critical part of the training involved the process of safely evacuating patients during a fire incident.

Patient Evacuation Drills

The Fire Safety team conducted practical demonstrations of several rescue techniques, such as the 'Chair Knot.' These methods ensure that even critically ill or immobile patients can be safely removed from the hospital premises. The aim of this exercise was to ensure the hospital staff can act with full readiness and efficiency during an emergency.

Key participants in this important training session included Nursing Officers Shailendra Singh, Preeti Tomar, Sangeeta Lokhande, Quality Assessor Sanjana Augustine, Nikhil Shri Singh, and Murari Jatav, along with members of the hospital's security, sanitation, and Group-D staff. This drill has further strengthened the hospital administration's preparedness to handle any potential fire accident in the future, thereby ensuring the safety of patients' lives and property. This training is considered a highly important step towards improving the hospital's overall security system.
