Excise Department's Major Operation in Bhind: Large Quantities of Illicit Liquor Seized in Two Cases

Major Drive Against Illicit Liquor Underway in Bhind

The Excise Department in Bhind district is conducting a comprehensive operation to curb the manufacturing, transportation, and sale of illicit liquor. In line with this objective, significant quantities of illegal Indian and foreign liquor have been seized during actions at two different locations.

Cases have been registered against the accused under the Excise Act. This operation was carried out by the Excise team under the directions of Collector Kirodilal Meena and the guidance of SDM Gohad Vikas Camor and District Excise Officer Mahesh Kumar Gaud. The department has clarified that strict action will continue against those involved in the illicit liquor trade.

77 Bulk Liters of Liquor Seized Near Factory in Malanpur

Under the Gohad Excise Circle, a significant action was executed during vehicle checking in the Malanpur area. Acting on a telephonic tip-off received from the SDM office, Naib Tehsildar Ramashankar Sharma and other officials intercepted an individual with illicit liquor near the Crompton Greaves factory.

The Excise team immediately reached the spot and took the accused and the seized liquor into custody. On August 8, 2026, a criminal case was registered against the accused, identified as Bhola Gurjar alias Aendal Gurjar, under sections 34(1) (a) and 34(2) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915. The seized items included 39 small bottles of spiced liquor, 53 cans of Budweiser beer, 25 cans of Bolt beer, 55 cans of Kingfisher beer, and 06 bottles of Bolt beer, totaling 77.42 bulk liters (Indian and foreign liquor) with an estimated value of ₹26,701.

Excise Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar Prajapati, along with constables Brajesh Jayant and Sudeep Verma, played a crucial role in this seizure.

23.69 Bulk Liters of Foreign and 13.68 Bulk Liters of Indian Liquor Seized on Bhind-Lahore Road

As part of the same campaign, the team from Excise Circle Bhind No. 1 conducted a separate operation near the Bilav turn on the Bhind-Lahore road. During a raid here, a total of 23.69 bulk liters of foreign liquor and 13.68 bulk liters of Indian liquor were seized from the possession of the accused, Gaurav Singh Rajawat.

A case has been registered against the accused under section 34(1) (a) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act. Excise Sub-Inspector Krishnakant Sharma, along with constables Dharmendra Bhadauria and Rajnath Maurya, were involved in this operation.

District Excise Officer, Mahesh Kumar Gaud, stated that this special campaign against the illicit liquor trade in the district will continue relentlessly. He emphasized that stringent action will be taken against those involved in illegal activities.
