Yoga's Role in Anti-Drug Campaigns Emphasized at Lifestyle Awards Ceremony
The eighth State Level Lifestyle Honors Ceremony, organized by the Dr. K.M. Ganguly Yoga Peeth institution, concluded at the Acharya Narendra Dev Library in Kamala Park. The event saw Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang stressing the significant role of yoga in ongoing campaigns against drug abuse.
Minister Sarang stated that just as the nation was freed from Naxalism, it will also be freed from narcotics under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Developed India 2047' campaign. He emphasized that yoga will be a vital link in the anti-drug campaign initiated by the Prime Minister, urging youth to stay away from substance abuse through regular yoga practice.
Sarang also underscored the importance of joint families in developing organizational capacity within society. The special guest, South-West MLA Bhagwant Das Sabnani, declared yoga's role in maintaining physical health as paramount. He concurred that yoga benefits both physical and mental health, serving as an effective means to remain drug-free, and advocated for its active participation in the Prime Minister's 'Drug-Free' campaign.
MLA Sabnani urged Dr. Pawan Guru, the head of the institution, to guide the youth in this campaign. During the event, Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang and MLA Bhagwant Das Sabnani honored distinguished personalities for their exceptional contributions in various fields.

- Dr. Priyanath Agarwal received the Dr. K.M. Ganguly Smriti Samman.
- Former IPS officer Pawan Jain was presented with the Ratnesh Guru Smriti Samman.
- Additional Director of Public Relations, GS Wadhwa, was awarded the Dr. C.B. Guru Smriti Samman.
- Senior journalist Dr. Rajiv Agnihotri was bestowed with the Jagdish Guru Smriti Samman.
- Shreeram Maheshwari received the Manorama Guru Sahitya Smriti Samman for his contributions to literature.
Senior Yoga Acharya Mamta Guru and a large number of yoga practitioners were present. The program was compered by Ajay Srivastava 'Neelu', with a vote of thanks delivered by senior journalist Shashank Dubey. The ceremony aimed to raise awareness about drug eradication and integrate yoga into daily life.
