Disaster Preparedness Reviewed in Bareilly

A significant meeting was held at the Bareilly Collectorate auditorium to review disaster management preparations. Lieutenant General Yogendra Dimri, Vice Chairman (Chief Secretary level), presided over this high-level review. The primary objective was to thoroughly assess relief and rescue arrangements to effectively manage any potential disaster.

During the meeting, officials received several specific instructions for handling future emergencies. A major directive was to ensure the availability of firefighting equipment in all nursing homes and educational institutions and to conduct regular checks. Special attention was paid to ensuring these institutions comply with fire safety standards.

Strengthening Control Rooms and Communication

Further directives were issued to enhance the effectiveness of control rooms operating for disaster relief. Officials were instructed to install toll-free numbers and clear banners at the control rooms. Continuous monitoring via LED screens was also mandated to receive immediate information about any incident.

To ensure prompt action during a disaster, officials were directed to reach the scene immediately and conduct extensive public awareness campaigns. Emphasizing public awareness was crucial so that citizens remain vigilant and can take necessary steps.

Focus on Flood Communication Systems

To reduce delays in information exchange during emergency situations like floods, special emphasis was placed on strengthening the wireless communication system. Efforts will be made to ensure that communication systems function seamlessly during disasters, enabling timely commencement of relief and rescue operations.

He issued instructions for rectifying existing arrangements and undertaking painting work to ensure smooth office operations. Present at the occasion were District Magistrate Avinash Singh, Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Maurya, Additional District Magistrate Santosh Kumar, CMO Dr. Vishram Singh, District Development Officer Dinesh Kumar, and City Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Verma, among other senior administrative officials.
