The fire was reported around 2:30 AM from Gali No. 1 in Tughlakabad. Officials confirmed that the flames originated in the parking area on the ground floor of the building, which comprises a ground floor and five upper storeys.

Initial inquiries suggest the fire was likely caused by an electrical short circuit on the ground floor. The rapid intensity of the blaze quickly engulfed seven parked two-wheelers, including an electric scooter that was actively charging.

Four fire tenders, CATS ambulances, and other emergency response units were promptly pressed into service. Firefighters successfully rescued eight residents trapped inside the building due to heavy smoke, who were then rushed to Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS Trauma Centre.
