Administration Intensifies Preparations for Ganesh Visarjan

The district administration in Bhind district has accelerated its preparations for the upcoming Ganesh Visarjan. Late on Monday night, Collector Smt. Ruchika Chauhan conducted a surprise inspection of the temporary ponds and small water bodies created near Sagar Tal.

During the inspection, she gave instructions to ensure cleanliness, adequate lighting, and strict security arrangements at the immersion sites. This is to prevent devotees from facing any kind of inconvenience. The Collector particularly emphasized maintaining the festive atmosphere and preventing any untoward incidents.

Security and Environmental Measures Prioritized

The Collector also obtained detailed information about the arrangements from the on-duty staff. She issued strict directives to the concerned officials to ensure robust barricading, the presence of trained divers, availability of sufficient life jackets, and deployment of police force at the immersion sites.

It was also mandated that all necessary security preparations be completed in advance and the entire process be continuously monitored. She stated that any lapse would not be tolerated and that safety is paramount.

Call for Immersion in Designated Ponds to Protect Environment

In a significant step towards environmental conservation, the district administration has appealed to the public to immerse Ganesh idols only in the temporary ponds and water bodies designated by the administration. This initiative aims to protect rivers and other major water sources from pollution.

The administration's goal is to make the entire Ganesh Visarjan process safe and environmentally friendly. They clarified that immersion in public water bodies negatively impacts aquatic life and can also be detrimental to health. This year, the administration has also increased the number of immersion sites to provide greater convenience to devotees and control overcrowding.

A sufficient number of volunteers will be deployed at each site to assist devotees. The Collector instructed the concerned officials to conduct awareness campaigns in collaboration with local communities to help people understand the importance of the environment and adhere to the administration's directives.

Senior Officials Present During Inspection

During this surprise inspection, SDM Gwalior City Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Pradeep Tomar, along with senior officials from the police and relevant departments, were present. Together, they reviewed the preparations and emphasized ensuring compliance with the necessary guidelines.

During this meeting, it was also decided that first aid arrangements would be made to handle any emergency situation, and an ambulance would be kept on standby.
