Stern Directives Issued to Bankers for Faster Loan Disbursals

Damoh | September 23, 2026 - In a bid to boost the pace of loan distribution under government schemes in Damoh district, Collector Pratap Narayan Yadav has issued stringent instructions to bank officials. During a district-level Bankers Committee and Review Committee meeting held at the Collectorate Sabha Hall, the Collector conducted a thorough review of scheme progress, emphasizing the need to ensure timely benefits for eligible beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by District Panchayat CEO Praveen Phulpagare, NABARD Representative Rajan Tomari, RBI AGM Manoj Kumar, Lead Bank Manager M.S. Siddiqui, and officials from various departments along with bankers. Discussions specifically focused on the progress of key schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and prominent schemes like Tantya Mama, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sant Ravidas, and Vidyasagar.

Instructions for Expedited and Clear Loan Processes

To ensure the swift resolution of loan cases, the Collector directed the preparation and distribution of a clear checklist of documents to the concerned departments. This initiative aims to expedite case completion, timely submission to banks, and reduce unnecessary delays in approvals. Departments that had submitted fewer applications than their targets have now been instructed to submit 150 percent of their target applications, facilitating a smoother selection process.

Dissatisfaction Over Slow Progress in Kamadhenu Scheme

During the review of the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamadhenu Yojana, the Collector expressed displeasure with the bankers' performance. He noted that despite receiving over 100 applications, loans had only been sanctioned in 4 cases. He issued clear directives that sanctioned loan cases should not be unnecessarily put on hold and that timely disbursement must be ensured after loan approval. Interest calculation should also commence only after the actual disbursement.

Swift Resolution of Pending PM Svanidhi Cases

Under the Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana, bankers have assured the sanctioning of all eligible pending cases within seven days. The Collector stressed the importance of better coordination between banking institutions and administrative officials, stating that the primary goal of the government's public welfare schemes is to bring positive change to the lives of common citizens. He expressed the expectation of maintaining regular dialogue for prompt problem-solving.

The administration firmly believes that the benefits of bank loans and subsidies should reach eligible beneficiaries without any delay. At the conclusion of the meeting, all concerned officials were instructed to ensure the effective implementation of schemes and to remain sensitive to the issues faced by the public.
