Key Development Projects Inaugurated in Gonda
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday presented Gonda district with 69 significant development projects valued at over ₹520 crore. Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that in the last nine and a half years, development projects worth ₹16,000 crore have been sanctioned for Gonda alone, with the figure reaching ₹50,000 crore for the entire Devi Patan division.
He emphasized that the state government is ensuring uniform development across all regions without discrimination based on caste, religion, or region, directly benefiting the general public. The Chief Minister also shed light on the unprecedented positive transformation in the state's law and order situation.
He stated that Uttar Pradesh is now completely free from curfews and riots and is progressing rapidly on the path of development. This development was evident during the recently concluded Navratri festival, when 67,000 Durga idols were installed across the state in a completely peaceful manner.
Mentioning the upcoming 10th edition of the grand Deepotsav in Ayodhya on November 7, the Chief Minister remarked that its grandeur and illumination will be clearly reflected in the development works of districts like Gonda, symbolizing the state's cultural and economic prosperity.
Maharaja Devi Bakhsh Singh Medical College Inaugurated
The most significant gift among the development projects for Gonda is the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Maharaja Devi Bakhsh Singh Medical College. This medical college is poised to be a milestone in improving healthcare services in the region.
The Chief Minister informed that the construction of medical colleges in Bahraich and Balrampur is also in the final stages and will be completed soon. He also disclosed that a proposal for the establishment of a new university in the Devi Patan division is under consideration.
The establishment of this university will prevent local youth from migrating out of the state for higher education, expanding educational opportunities in the region and allowing talent to flourish locally. This initiative will elevate the standard of higher education in the region and prepare youth for a better future.
New Initiatives for Employment and Youth
In a bid to shape the future of youth and make them self-reliant, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made several important announcements. He stated that within the next six months, one lakh youth will be linked to government jobs in the state, which will reduce the unemployment rate.
He also clarified that immediately after Diwali, recruitments will be made for 35,000 police constable and 42,000 home guard positions, further strengthening the state's security apparatus. Additionally, large-scale recruitments will take place for approximately 25,000 to 30,000 teachers and other vacant posts in various government departments, leading to an unprecedented increase in employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister also announced special provisions for Agniveers returning after serving the nation. A direct recruitment system with a 20 percent reservation has been established for Agniveers in Uttar Pradesh Police, PAC, Homeguards, Forest, and Jail departments, marking a significant step towards securing their future. This initiative will provide opportunities for youth in government service alongside national service.
Focus on Farmers and Public Welfare Schemes
To increase farmers' income and find lasting solutions to their problems, the Chief Minister mentioned an ambitious plan to set up biogas and ethanol plants from agricultural waste like stubble and cow dung. This scheme will not only improve the economic condition of farmers but also play a crucial role in environmental protection.
He also provided detailed information about the benefits being received by the poor through state-wide public welfare schemes. Beneficiaries are regularly provided with free ration, cooking gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme, and free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The Chief Minister also informed that before the auspicious festival of Diwali, eligible beneficiaries in the state will be provided with a free filled LPG cylinder, offering relief in their festive expenses. This step reflects the government's sensitivity towards the common masses.
Development of Religious Sites and Call for Public Participation
The Chief Minister also mentioned plans for the rejuvenation and development of important religious and mythological sites in Gonda district. Special funds have been allocated for the development works of Baba Prithvinath, Swaminarayan Chhapiya, and Maa Varahi temples.
These schemes will promote the beautification of these pilgrimage sites, enhance facilities for devotees, and foster the overall development of the surrounding areas. Several other esteemed public representatives and dignitaries were present on this important occasion, including Union Minister Kirtivardhan Singh, MLAs Ramapati Shastri, Prabhat Verma, Prem Narayan Pandey, Ajay Singh, Vinay Dwivedi, MLC Awadhesh Singh, Manju Singh, and District Panchayat President Ghanshyam Mishra.
The Chief Minister appealed to all citizens to celebrate the auspicious festival of Deepotsav with full enthusiasm and joy and to enhance its grandeur by actively participating in it.
