BJP Rejects Rahul Gandhi's Allegations on Student Protests

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a sharp counter-attack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following his claims in the Lok Sabha regarding alleged police firing during student protests and accusations leveled against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra dismissed Gandhi's accusations as 'factually incorrect' and 'misleading', stating that he was presenting false information to the nation.

Patra Denies Police Firing, Questions Gandhi's Knowledge of Law

S . P refuted Rahul Gandhi's assertion that police opened fire during the student movement and that orders for the same came from Home Minister Amit Shah. Patra clarified that no incident of police firing on students occurred, making the question of issuing such orders irrelevant.

S. P. highlighted the procedural clarity in matters of law and order in India, explaining that in cases of violent protests or mob escalation, local administrative officers and magistrates assess the situation and make decisions.

He emphasized that the Union Home Minister does not issue direct orders for local law and order actions. Patra accused Rahul Gandhi of politicizing a sensitive issue and making statements without concrete facts.

“If Rahul Gandhi lacks knowledge of law and administrative procedures, he should seek information from senior leaders of his party. However, those who are asleep while awake cannot be woken up,” he stated sarcastically.

BJP Objects to Gandhi's Words, Accuses Him of Division

The BJP MP also expressed strong objection to certain words used by Rahul Gandhi during his Lok Sabha speech. He alleged that Gandhi attempted to divide students and youth into separate categories.

Patra stressed that every student in the country deserves respect, and using derogatory terms for any student is inappropriate. He asserted that while political opposition is one thing, the dignity of students and youth should not be compromised.

He accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create division among students and viewing youth solely through a political lens in his speech.

Response to Allegations of Amit Shah's Absence

Responding to questions raised by Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha about the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah in the House, Sambit Patra stated that Shah has always been transparent about his public and parliamentary responsibilities, with his schedules being pre-planned and public.

Patra claimed that the Home Minister was present within the Parliament premises at the time Rahul Gandhi was speaking. He further alleged that Rahul Gandhi named the Home Minister solely to make political accusations and sensationalize the entire matter.

BJP Demands Facts from Rahul Gandhi

Sambit Patra stated that while the opposition has the right to ask questions in a democracy, these questions must be based on facts and evidence. He added that mere allegations do not prove anything.

The BJP leader targeted Rahul Gandhi, saying the people of the country are now capable of differentiating between facts and politics. He urged the opposition to play a responsible role and gather complete information before making statements on sensitive issues.

Political Confrontation to Continue in Parliament Session

The political confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition has intensified over the student movement, police action, and this debate in the Lok Sabha. While the Congress is accusing the government of suppressing students' voices, the BJP is calling it a calculated political move and an attempt to spread confusion by the opposition.
