Administration Cracks Down on Illegal Mining in Billoua

The district administration in Gwalior has taken decisive action to curb illegal mining activities in the restricted mines of the Billoua area. In compliance with explicit directives from the Gwalior High Court, Collector Ruchika Chauhan and Senior Superintendent of Police Dharamvir Singh conducted an intensive on-site inspection of these mines on Saturday.

During the inspection, both senior officials issued strict instructions to the concerned departmental officers. They emphasized that any violation of the court's orders would not be tolerated and that mineral extraction or transportation from restricted zones must cease entirely. Collector Ruchika Chauhan underscored the importance of ensuring effective surveillance and control on the ground, stating that merely issuing orders is insufficient.

Enhanced Vigilance and Crackdowns Implemented

To prevent illegal excavation, the district administration has established eight special checkpoints in the Billoua region. These checkpoints will continuously monitor any suspicious activity in the area. Additionally, special investigation teams led by the District Mineral Officer have been formed.

These teams will conduct surprise raids on mines and surrounding areas periodically to take action against individuals involved in illegal mining. The administration's rigorous surveillance and raiding operations have caused consternation among anti-social elements engaged in illegal mining within the region. Several senior police officials, along with Additional District Magistrate C.B. Prasad, Subdivisional Magistrate Dabra Smt. Juhi Garg, Joint Collector Smt. Bhumija Saxena, Deputy Collector Anil Raghav, and District Mineral Officer Pankajdhwaj Mishra, were present during this crucial inspection.

The administration has clearly communicated that any laxity in enforcing the law will not be tolerated, and this special surveillance will continue to maintain peace and order in the area.
