Bhind Police Uncover Interstate Vehicle Theft Racket

The Bhind Police have made a significant breakthrough by dismantling an interstate vehicle theft gang. In a major operation, they recovered a stolen Tata dumper, estimated to be worth around ₹50 lakh, from the Nuh district of Haryana.

As part of this successful operation, police also apprehended a notorious criminal from Rajasthan, who was reportedly a key member of the gang and carried a reward of ₹10,000.

Tracing the Stolen Vehicle

The incident began on August 24 when a Tata dumper was stolen from the rural police station area of Bhind. The following day, a complainant from Seetanagar filed a report regarding the dumper's theft.

Following the report, and under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Patel, and City Superintendent of Police Niranjan Singh Rajput, four special teams were formed. These teams were tasked with locating the thieves and recovering the stolen vehicle, ensuring the gang could not continue its illegal activities.

Extensive Search Operation Yields Results

The formed teams conducted an intensive 19-day search operation spanning approximately 500 kilometers across states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana. During this period, investigators meticulously reviewed over 800 CCTV footages to identify suspicious activities.

Based on precise intelligence from informers and collected technical evidence, the teams laid a trap near a hotel in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, on September 11. They successfully apprehended the accused, identified as Hari Ram alias Kesharam alias Chutiya alias Shera Meena.

Accused Revealed Gang's Modus Operandi

Police records indicate that the arrested individual was a proclaimed offender carrying a ₹10,000 reward, highlighting his notoriety and the significance of his capture. During interrogation, the arrested accused provided crucial details about the gang's operations.

He revealed that the gang used cars with fake number plates for their operations and conducted thorough reconnaissance of heavy vehicles like dumpers and Hyvas. They would then use master keys to unlock the vehicles and disable their GPS systems to prevent tracking.

The stolen vehicles were taken to the Nuh-Mewat region in Haryana, where their appearance and paint were completely altered to make them unrecognizable and facilitate their sale at high prices. This process of altering the vehicle's appearance made identification extremely difficult.

Criminal History and Ongoing Investigation

According to police records, the arrested accused, Hari Ram, is a habitual offender with over 20 cases registered against him in various police stations across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, primarily for theft and burglary.

The police are currently conducting intense interrogations to uncover details about his accomplices and the full extent of the gang's network. The objective is not only to solve this specific case but also to apprehend the entire gang to prevent future crimes.

Efforts are underway to arrest the other members of the gang, and the police are optimistic about further arrests soon. The recovered Tata dumper is estimated to be worth approximately ₹50 lakh, underscoring the scale of the gang's operations.

Key Contributors to the Operation

The successful operation involved significant contributions from several police personnel, including Station House Officer (SHO) Rural Inspector Shivpratap Singh Rajawat, Sub-Inspectors Vijay Shivhare, Vaibhav Tomar, Atul Bhadauria, and Cyber Cell In-charge Satyaveer Singh. Their expertise, hard work, and dedication were crucial to the operation's success.

Local social worker Farooq Khan also provided valuable assistance by gathering ground-level information and establishing contact with local residents. The recovered Tata dumper has completed legal formalities, and the investigation into the case is ongoing.
