Environmental Plea for Ganesh Chaturthi

In a special appeal to the residents of Bhind, District Collector Kirodilal Meena has urged citizens to embrace environmental conservation during the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling religious traditions while simultaneously upholding environmental responsibilities.

Collector Meena clarified that Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris (POP) are detrimental to water bodies and the overall environment. Conversely, idols crafted from clay are entirely safe for nature. He implored citizens to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly manner this year and to avoid materials that harm the environment.

Call for Participation in 'Mati Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh' Campaign

Kirodilal Meena has called for active participation from the district's residents in the 'Mati Ganesh-Siddh Ganesh' campaign, an initiative by the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad aimed at environmental conservation. He urged citizens to either create or utilize clay idols.

The objective of this initiative is to safeguard the environment and promote sustainable practices. The Collector expressed confidence that Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, will clear all difficulties from everyone's lives and bestow happiness, prosperity, and good health. He appealed to citizens to celebrate Ganesh Utsav with harmony and enthusiasm.

The administration believes this effort will boost the use of clay idols in the district and enhance public awareness regarding environmental protection.
