Police Recoup Stolen Batteries, Apprehend Two Suspects

The Thana Shahi police in Bareilly have achieved a significant success, recovering two valuable batteries stolen from a warehouse. Two cunning culprits have been apprehended in connection with the case and presented before the court.

Theft Reported, Investigation Launched

The incident came to light on September 21 when Nitin Gupta, a resident of Dunnka village, filed a complaint at the local police station. Gupta reported that a Luminous and a Livguard brand battery had been stolen from his warehouse. Based on his complaint, the police registered a case under crime number 335/2026 and initiated an investigation.

Recovery Based on Informant Tip

As part of an ongoing operation against criminals, a special police team was patrolling the area. Acting on a secret tip-off from an informant, the police took decisive action. They apprehended Vikas, a resident of Anandpur, and Sanjeev, a resident of Dunnka.

Stolen Goods Recovered, Confession Obtained

During a search, the police recovered one Luminous 160 AH and one Livguard 240 AH battery from the possession of the accused. During interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed that they, along with another accomplice named Rohidash, had committed the theft at the warehouse on the night of September 13.

Batteries Hidden in Sugarcane Field

The accused revealed that after the theft, they had hidden the batteries in a nearby sugarcane field and were awaiting a vehicle to sell them when the police caught them red-handed. Following the recovery, the police have added sections 331(4) and 317(2) of the Indian Penal Code to the existing case.

Further Investigation Underway

Currently, the role of the third accused, Rohidash, is also under investigation. The team that carried out this operation included Sub-Inspector Sanjeev Kumar, Devendra Singh, and other police personnel.
