Minor's Rape Allegation and Panchayat Intervention in Bareilly

A serious case of rape against a minor girl has surfaced in the Shishgarh police station area of Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh. The accusation is that a local youth, identified as Narendra alias Chhotu, had been physically and mentally exploiting the minor for the past year. The situation escalated when a village panchayat was convened to suppress the matter, ultimately deciding to arrange a marriage between the accused and the victim.

The police have now taken the main accused, Narendra, into custody. Preparations are underway to take action against those involved in the panchayat proceedings. According to information received, the accused, Narendra alias Chhotu, had blackmailed the minor by creating and possessing her private photos and videos. When the victim's mother complained to the accused's father, Gokaran Lal, he reportedly threatened to kill the victim's brother.

Victim's Mother Files Complaint, Panchayat Attempts Cover-up

Considering the gravity of the incident, the victim's mother filed a written complaint at the local police station on September 16. Despite the police complaint, a panchayat was held in the village, which made an inappropriate decision to arrange a marriage between the accused Narendra and the victim. Under pressure from the panchayat, there were reports of a ceremonial exchange between the two parties on Monday, an attempt to resolve the case.

Police Action and Investigation Underway

Following the viral spread of information and content related to the incident and the panchayat on social media, the administration and police have taken action. CO Badaun, Arun Kumar, stated that the main accused, Narendra, has been taken into custody for questioning. He added that the accused will be presented in court and sent to jail soon. The police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the roles of the panchayat organizers and other individuals involved. All those who attempted to suppress this sensitive case by taking the law into their own hands are being identified.

Based on the investigation, strict legal action will be taken against all participants in the panchayat. The police have assured the victim and her family of safety and an impartial investigation. The local administration has clarified that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will not be spared under any circumstances, and justice will be ensured.
