Extensive Security Arrangements for Ganesh Visarjan Announced in Bareilly

The police administration in Bareilly has announced comprehensive security arrangements in anticipation of the upcoming Ganesh Visarjan festival. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya issued strict directives to officials during a review meeting held via Google Meet on Thursday night.

The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendents of Police, all Circle Officers, and Station House Officers. SSP Arya clarified that the 'box formation' technique will be employed to ensure the safety of Ganesh idol procession routes. Under this technique, police forces will be deployed around the processions in a manner that provides security from all sides and allows for prompt response to any untoward incident.

A 24-hour police presence will be maintained at idol sites, with officers working in 12-hour shifts. Police have been instructed to conduct advance inspections of immersion routes, crowded areas, and sensitive locations to ensure smooth traffic flow and heightened surveillance.

Officials are also expected to respond immediately to any minor incident and keep a vigilant watch on anti-social elements. As part of the security measures, Dial-112 and PRVs (Police Response Vehicles) have been directed to continuously patrol sensitive areas.

Vigilant Social Media Monitoring and Action Against Rumors

This year, the police will maintain a close watch on social media. A dedicated team has been assigned to monitor posts spreading provocative content or rumors. Immediate legal action will be taken against any such post that could potentially disrupt the atmosphere.

On an administrative level, emphasis has been placed on the timely resolution of public grievances and courteous behavior towards citizens. SSP Arya also announced the launch of a 'Punah Samvad' (Re-engagement) program in the district, aimed at establishing regular coordination with local residents and dignitaries to resolve issues.

All officers have been instructed to work in synergy to ensure that the Ganesh Visarjan is conducted peacefully and harmoniously. These preparations by the police are considered crucial for preventing any potential untoward situations and maintaining law and order.
