Agriculture Department Launches Seed Minikit Scheme

The agricultural department in Bareilly district has launched a significant scheme for the upcoming Rabi season 2026-27. The initiative aims to boost the production of pulses and oilseeds by providing farmers with free seed minikits.

The distribution of these minikits is planned across all 15 development blocks in the district. The key highlight of this program is the complimentary provision of high-quality seed minikits for Toria (mustard), mustard, and peas, designed to strengthen the local agricultural economy and increase farmer income.

Focus on Pulses and Oilseeds

District Agriculture Officer Rituasha Tiwari confirmed the implementation of the scheme, emphasizing a specific focus on pulse and oilseed crops this season. For the pea crop, 400 minikits, each weighing 20 kilograms, have been prepared.

The online application process for these seed minikits began on July 2, 2026. The agriculture department has stated that if the number of applications exceeds the set target, beneficiaries will be selected through a completely transparent e-lottery system to ensure fair access to the scheme's benefits for all eligible farmers.

Farmers are advised to register on the departmental portal to receive the seed minikits. Registration can be done using a mobile phone, laptop, or computer. For any assistance with technical issues or the application process, farmers can contact their nearest Government Seed Store or the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Extension Officer's office.

The department's endeavor is to ensure that seeds reach farmers on time, facilitating the smooth completion of sowing for the Rabi crops.
