Farmers' Dues and Official Directives

Bareilly District Magistrate held a meeting with officials from various departments on Wednesday at the Vikas Bhawan auditorium. The primary focus of the meeting was the outstanding payments to sugarcane farmers.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate adopted a strict stance, issuing clear directives to the concerned officials to ensure the payment of all outstanding dues by September 20, 2026. He emphasized that any form of negligence would not be tolerated and that swift action should be taken to resolve issues.

Addressing Farmer Grievances

The District Magistrate further instructed officials to ensure prompt and quality resolution of complaints submitted by farmers. Additionally, officials were directed to expedite solutions for problems related to the three percent interest subsidy on Kisan Credit Card loans.

He also stressed the mandatory personal presence of all departmental officers at the upcoming Farmers' Day, requiring them to present progress reports. This is to allow for an assessment of the progress made towards resolving issues.

Beekeeping Training Camp Announced

During the meeting, Dr. Ranjeet Singh, a scientist from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), provided farmers with information on advanced techniques for protecting crops from pests.

He made a significant announcement regarding a three-day training camp on beekeeping to be held at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Izatnagar from September 28 to 30, 2026. This training will educate farmers on the latest beekeeping techniques and their economic benefits.

Discussion on Departmental Schemes

The District Horticulture Officer provided detailed information on various departmental schemes, available subsidies for farmers, and government concessions. He explained how farmers can increase their income by availing these schemes.

Officials from key departments including Agriculture, Electricity, Sugarcane, Horticulture, Fisheries, Sericulture, Cooperatives, Irrigation, Insurance, and Dairy were present at the meeting. A large number of progressive farmers from the district also participated and presented their concerns to the officials.

The District Magistrate has directed all concerned departments to improve their functioning and be more sensitive towards farmers.
