Man Arrested for Rape Under Pretext of Marriage in Bareilly

The Fatehganj Paschim police in Bareilly have apprehended a wanted accused, Junaid, on charges of rape and issuing death threats under the false promise of marriage. The accused has been taken into custody, and after completing the necessary legal procedures, he has been presented before the court.

Case Registered on Victim's Complaint

The incident came to light on October 10, 2026, when the victim filed a written complaint at the police station. Based on this complaint, a case (Crime Number 341/2026) was registered against Junaid, son of Ishaq Ahmed, a resident of village Sorha.

The accused was booked under sections 69 and 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code. The victim alleged that the accused engaged in sexual relations with her by luring her with marriage. Later, when she protested, the accused flatly refused to marry her and also threatened to kill her.

Arrest Made on Informer's Tip-off

Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar Sharma is investigating this serious case. On October 13, the police team received accurate information from an informer that the accused, Junaid, was standing near the highway in the town, intending to flee. Acting swiftly on the information, a team led by Station House Officer Inspector Praveen Kumar, along with Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar Sharma and Head Constable Pradeep Kumar, cordoned off the area and apprehended the accused.

Intensive Investigation Continues to Ensure Justice

The police stated that all legal formalities have been completed after the arrest of Junaid. Further investigation is ongoing based on the evidence collected. The police administration has emphasized that a thorough investigation of the case is being conducted to ensure justice for the victim. Future legal actions will be taken based on the evidence gathered.
