Local public representatives held a significant meeting in Lucknow on Friday to demand the normalization of electricity supply in areas affected by the recent cyclone and heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district. The meeting took place on October 9, 2026.
MLA Ram Pratap Verma from Utraula and former MLA Paltu Ram from Sadar met with Sandeep Bhangia, the Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). They urged for the immediate rectification of the region's crippled electricity system.
Urgent Appeal for Restoration
The MLAs informed the Managing Director that the natural disaster had disrupted daily life, causing immense hardship to residents due to the lack of uninterrupted power supply. They requested the necessary actions to be taken for the swift restoration of electricity in the affected areas.
The public representatives emphasized that addressing the common people's problems is their paramount duty, and they are in constant contact with higher officials for their resolution. They stressed the importance of prioritizing the public's issues.

During the meeting, the MLAs clarified that ensuring a smooth electricity system in the region is their top priority. They assured the Managing Director that their efforts would continue until normalcy is restored in the affected areas.
