Review of Health Services in Balrampur, DM Directs Improvements

A review meeting of the District Health Society's governing body and a special communicable disease control campaign was held to improve the quality of health services and ensure effective implementation of schemes in Balrampur. The meeting, chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain at the Collectorate auditorium, included a detailed evaluation of various programs under the National Health Mission, maternal and child health services, immunization, and financial progress.

Focus on Maternal and Child Health

The District Magistrate emphasized providing timely treatment to eligible beneficiaries and maintaining the continuity of health services. The meeting also stressed promoting institutional deliveries under the Maternal and Child Health Program.

The District Magistrate directed a thorough investigation of every maternal death case. He also called for ensuring the availability of trained doctors and necessary equipment in delivery units. It was reported that a total of 1,606 deliveries, including 272 Cesarean procedures, were conducted under the First Referral Unit (FRU) during August.

Balrampur's Leading Achievement in Ayushman Bharat

The achievements of Balrampur district under the Ayushman Bharat scheme were lauded as commendable. Over 6.26 lakh golden cards have been issued to date, representing 85.66 percent of the total target. With this accomplishment, Balrampur has secured the first position in the Devi Patan division and the 21st rank across the entire state.

The District Magistrate ordered the prompt settlement of pending payments under the Janani Suraksha Yojana. Regular immunization achieved 98.11 percent of its target, while HPV vaccination for cervical cancer prevention surpassed its goal with 100.5 percent achievement, marking an over 100 percent success rate.

Communicable Disease Control and Telemedicine Discussed

Under the TB eradication program, 481 new patients were identified in August, which is 106 percent above the set target. The National Child Health Program is providing free surgery and treatment facilities to children. The e-Sanjeevani telemedicine service has successfully provided medical consultations to 27,609 patients so far.

Regarding the special communicable disease control campaign, the District Magistrate directed special attention to measures such as preventing waterlogging, cleaning drains, fogging, and anti-larval spraying. He instructed officials from the health, panchayati raj, and education departments to establish better coordination and enhance public awareness activities.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Himanshu Gupta, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mukesh Rastogi, and other senior officials.
