Construction Progress and Quality Oversight

The District Magistrate of Balrampur, Vipin Kumar Jain, conducted an on-site inspection of the small bridge construction works being carried out by the Public Works Department. The inspection aimed to strengthen road connectivity and ensure safer commuting within the district. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of the construction and issued strict directives to officials to maintain uncompromising quality.

The District Magistrate meticulously examined several key projects, including the 3x18.75 meter RCC small bridge over the Jhinne Nala on the Hariharaganj–Laliya–Bankatwa road. He also inspected the 7x4x4 meter box culvert under construction at Kilometer-1 on the Pathanpurwa to Rajgarhva road (Ghodhawa Nala) of the Bela road, and a small bridge being built on the Kodari–Mathura–Chaudharydeeh road. He engaged in detailed discussions with the construction agencies and departmental officials regarding the physical progress, current status of works, and adherence to the set timelines for each project.

Emphasis on Superior Construction Materials

District Magistrate Jain placed significant emphasis on the quality of materials used in the construction. He made it clear that the use of cement, steel, concrete, and other construction materials must strictly conform to the approved designs and standards. He stressed that quality is the highest priority, and any negligence or deviation from standards at any level will not be tolerated.

He instructed the officials to ensure all projects are completed within the stipulated deadlines to expedite the provision of improved commuting facilities for the local populace. He also urged for promptness in addressing any technical deficiencies identified during the construction process.

Directions for Speed and Technical Compliance

The District Magistrate advised the implementing agencies and concerned officials to avoid any unnecessary delays in the construction work. He emphasized leveraging available resources effectively to accelerate the pace of work. DM Jain also underscored the importance of full compliance with technical standards at every stage of construction to ensure the durability, safety, and long-term utility of the built bridges.

He directed for regular monitoring of the construction activities and strict adherence to all quality control standards. Action was also mandated for the immediate rectification of any technical shortcomings. Present during the inspection were Shailendra Kumar Singh, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (Provincial Division), along with other senior officials and staff of the department.
