DM Reviews Health Services in Balrampur

Balrampur | September 23, 2026. In Gram Panchayat Sakri Bankatwa of the Hariya Satgharwa development block, District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain conducted an impromptu inspection of a VHND (Victorious Health Village Assembly Day) session on Wednesday. During this, he thoroughly reviewed the process of child vaccination and the status of antenatal check-ups (ANC) for pregnant women.

The inspection session saw a total of 17 children vaccinated, providing a direct observation of the implementation of local health services. The District Magistrate instructed health officials to ensure 100% vaccination of all eligible children based on the due list. It is crucial to ensure that no child is left unvaccinated, as this is a vital step in preventing infectious diseases.

He also stated that pregnant women should undergo regular and quality check-ups, with continuous monitoring of high-risk women. They should be referred to higher health centers if necessary. This initiative aims to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates and ensure safe deliveries.

E-Kavach Portal Data Update Mandated

During the inspection, the District Magistrate observed the E-Kavach portal being used by ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives). He ordered the concerned staff to update the health details of pregnant women and children on the portal in a timely manner. This digital system plays a significant role in monitoring health services and identifying beneficiaries.

Dr. Jain emphasized establishing better coordination among ASHA, ANM, and Anganwadi workers to ensure access to health services for every eligible beneficiary. These health workers, operating at the community level, are the backbone of health services in rural areas.

Reiterating his administrative commitment to the quality of health services, the District Magistrate stated that continuous improvement in the work system is essential. He clarified that such surprise visits are conducted to understand the ground reality of health facilities and bring about necessary improvements. This is not just limited to an inspection but is part of a continuous process to strengthen the health system.

During this inspection, MOIC (Medical Officer In-charge) Sujeet Pandey, along with several other officials and staff from the health department, were present. They provided the District Magistrate with information about the work being done at the ground level. It will be ensured that all directives are effectively followed and the benefits of health services reach the last person.
