Balrampur DM Inspects Health Session, Issues Strict Vaccination Directives

Health Session Inspection in Balrampur

Balrampur, September 23, 2026 - District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain conducted a surprise inspection of a Village Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Day (VHSND) session held in Sakri Bankatwa village, Vikas Khand Harraiya Satgharwa, Balrampur district. He reviewed the status of maternal and child health services.

During the inspection, 17 children were vaccinated at the session, a progress report on which the District Magistrate expressed satisfaction with. He issued strict directives to ensure 100% vaccination for children and high-quality check-ups for pregnant women.

Ensuring Full Vaccination Coverage

The District Magistrate expressed hope that all eligible children, according to the due list, would be vaccinated on schedule. He stressed the need to immediately identify and cover children missed due to any reason in upcoming sessions.

He urged ASHA and Anganwadi workers to play a crucial role in making parents aware of the importance of vaccination. This proactive approach aims to ensure no child is left unvaccinated.

Focus on Pregnant Women's Health and E-Kavach Portal

The District Magistrate emphasized the importance of ensuring the quality of health check-ups for pregnant women. He stated that all registered women must undergo prenatal examinations with high quality. Regular monitoring of vital parameters like hemoglobin, weight, and blood pressure during check-ups is essential.

Directives were also given for special monitoring of high-risk pregnant women and their referral to higher health facilities if necessary. He reviewed the use of the E-Kavach portal, instructing health workers to update beneficiary details, vaccination, and check-up information promptly.

The District Magistrate clarified that accurate data entry will enable effective monitoring of beneficiaries, ensuring no eligible individual is deprived of essential nutrition and health services. He reiterated that the primary objective of the VHSND session is to provide essential services to women and children at the rural level.

Present during the inspection were Chief Medical Officer (MOIC) Sujit Pandey, along with other relevant officials and health workers.
