Allegations Against 'Quack' Doctors Mount in Gaurjhamar

The demand for action against alleged 'quack' doctors in the Gaurjhamar area of Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, is intensifying. Clinics and hospitals operated by these individuals continue to function openly, treating patients, due to alleged apathy from the health department.

Local residents have raised serious questions about the treatment, including injections and drips, being administered at hospitals reportedly operating under the names of Dr. TK Biswas and Dr. Ashwani Majumdar. This situation raises concerns about the health department's oversight and patient safety.

Delayed Action Despite Assurances

Despite more than seven days passing, no decisive action has been taken in this matter. Although Dr. Devesh Pateriya, the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Sagar, has assured action, medical activities at these hospitals continue as before.

Sources indicate that the Health Minister had issued clear instructions to the Sagar Collector regarding this issue, but the situation on the ground remains unchanged.

Questions Raised Over Health Officials' Role

The conduct of Dr. Pooja Parmar, the health officer of the Deori block, is also under scrutiny in this entire episode. Local residents allege that the lack of effective action has emboldened the hospital operators.

However, independent confirmation of alleged protective patronage by these officials is still pending. Meanwhile, residents are now looking to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to establish administrative accountability.

Administrative Probe and Potential Action

Upon being informed about the issue, the Deori SDM has given a complete assurance of conducting a detailed investigation and taking necessary action the following day. It will be crucial to see if the administration inspects these hospitals and impartially verifies their documents and the medical qualifications of the associated doctors.

If violations of regulations are proven during the investigation, it is expected that these hospitals will be sealed, and strict legal action will be taken.

Allegations of Political Patronage Surface

There are strong discussions in the region about the action against these alleged 'quack' doctors being hampered by the purported patronage of some influential leaders or public representatives. Although these claims have not yet been independently confirmed, the demand for a fair investigation is growing.

The most critical aspect of this sensitive case in Gaurjhamar is that the health department must complete its investigation based on facts immediately and ensure the safety of general citizens' health. If the operation of illegal medical practices is found, strict action should be taken against those found guilty as per rules, to prevent any compromise with public health.

The upcoming actions of the administration will provide answers to the questions raised in this matter and help restore credibility in the region's healthcare system.
