44 SDRF Personnel Ready for Disaster Relief After Completing Training

Training Concludes for Disaster Response Teams

Bhopal | August 5, 2026 - Forty-four personnel deputed to the Madhya Pradesh Police's State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDRF) have successfully completed their intensive 90-day basic training. These personnel are now fully prepared to undertake relief and rescue operations during natural and man-made disasters across the state.

At the concluding ceremony, Director General Mrs. Pragya Richa Srivastava distributed certificates to the successful trainees. She also honored three personnel for their outstanding performance with shields.

SDRF's Crucial Role Emphasized

Director General Mrs. Pragya Richa Srivastava highlighted the SDRF as a vital unit for Madhya Pradesh, ensuring citizen safety through swift and effective relief-rescue efforts during emergencies. She stated that this training has enhanced the personnel's efficiency, technical skills, and disaster response capabilities, enabling them to serve the public in challenging situations.

"I call upon the trainees to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired with complete dedication and sensitivity for public welfare."

Specialized Disaster Management Training

The 90-day training program provided the 44 personnel with comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in various aspects of disaster management and emergency response. This included specialized techniques such as flood disaster management, collapsed structure search and rescue, first aid, and rescue and response during Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) disasters.

Inspiration in National Service

A special highlight of the training was the participation of Mrs. Dolly Kushwaha, the wife of an SDRF jawan martyred during a disaster relief operation in Bhind district. She successfully completed the training, setting an inspiring example of service, courage, and dedication. Her resolve is a symbol of unwavering commitment and dutifulness towards national service.

Upon completion of their training, these personnel will also receive a 50 percent risk allowance as per the prevailing government provisions. The ceremony was attended by senior SDRF officials and staff, including Deputy Inspector General Mr. Amit Sandhi, Divisional Commandant Mrs. Sangeeta D. Kumar, and Mr. Kamlendraparihar.
