Mass Health Camp Offers Free Services in Farrukhabad

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the Chief Minister's Arogya Mela was organized in Farrukhabad district, where a total of 1327 people benefited from various health services. This special health camp, held at 34 Primary Health Centers (PHC) and Urban Health Centers (UHC) in the district, provided quality treatment to common citizens at their nearest health facilities.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Anand Upadhyay stated that the Chief Minister's Arogya Mela is an important public welfare initiative by the government, with the main objective of providing better health services to citizens close to their homes. He added that the health department is offering services like screening, examination, and consultation for general illnesses as well as serious and non-communicable diseases, enabling patients to be referred to higher-level health institutions as needed.

Comprehensive Health Services at Arogya Mela

A total of 1327 patients were registered at the Arogya Mela, including 599 males, 557 females, and 171 children. To ensure the smooth operation of health services, 36 doctors and 166 paramedical staff were deployed to examine patients and provide necessary consultations and treatment.

During the examinations, 359 cases related to skin diseases, 174 related to gastrointestinal issues, 178 for diabetes, 187 for respiratory diseases, 87 for hypertension, 10 for anemia, and 7 for cancer were consulted. This indicates that a wide range of health problems were addressed at the camp.

Special Focus on Maternal and Child Health

Maternal and child health received special attention at the Chief Minister's Arogya Mela. During the event, 95 pregnant women (ANC) received essential health check-ups, consultations, and guidance. Children's health was also examined, and treatment was arranged as needed to promote the healthy development of newborns and children.

Screening of Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases

With the aim of improving public health, the camp also conducted screening for various communicable and non-communicable diseases. 31 suspected TB patients were identified, and arrangements for their further treatment will be made. 65 Hepatitis-B and 62 Hepatitis-C card tests were performed, although no positive cases were found. Additionally, 205 patients with fever were examined, while 106 rapid diagnostic tests for malaria and 42 tests for dengue were conducted, none of which yielded positive results.

Health Awareness and Digital Health Services Promotion

At the Arogya Mela, people were made aware of the serious side effects of consuming tobacco and other addictive substances. 20 individuals were counseled to quit tobacco to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The facility to create Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs was also provided, under which 28 ABHA IDs were created. Furthermore, 13 Golden Cards were issued, which will provide health insurance benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

11 patients received consultations with specialist doctors through telemedicine, enabling people in remote areas to access specialized medical facilities.

Referrals for Serious Patients

During the health check-ups, 762 patients found to be seriously ill were referred to higher medical institutions for treatment of other specific diseases. 95 pregnant women were referred for obstetric and gynecological consultations, and 3 patients were referred for general medical treatment. 11 patients were also consulted for eye examinations.

CMO Appeals, Health Department Reiterates Commitment

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Anand Upadhyay, appealed to the residents of the district to take full advantage of health initiatives like the Chief Minister's Arogya Mela. He urged them not to ignore any health-related issues and to regularly visit their nearest health center for medical consultation and check-ups. Dr. Upadhyay specifically emphasized the importance of timely detection and treatment of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, TB, cancer, hepatitis, and anemia.

The health department reiterated its commitment, stating that through the Chief Minister's Arogya Mela, efforts will continue to provide free health check-ups, treatment, investigations, consultations, and referral facilities close to the people residing in the remote and rural areas of the district.
