NVIDIA and Microsoft Partner for Next-Gen Windows PCs

Microsoft and NVIDIA announced a new generation of thin-and-light Windows PCs at NVIDIA GTC.

These PCs are accelerated by NVIDIA RTX Spark, boasting high power efficiency.

"NVIDIA and Microsoft share a vision that agents are the future of personal computing," said Jeff Fisher, senior vice president of personal computing at NVIDIA. "RTX Spark combines NVIDIA’s full technology stack with Microsoft Windows and is purpose-built for creators, gamers and AI developers in the personal AI era."

RTX Spark: Powering the Future of Windows

RTX Spark delivers 1 petaflop of AI performance and industry-leading performance-per-watt.

It features up to 6144 Blackwell RTX cores, up to 20 power-efficient Arm cores, and up to 128GB of unified memory.

Windows is optimized to unleash RTX Spark's full potential.

Optimized Performance and Power Management

Windows uses workload profile scheduling (WPS) optimized for RTX Spark, scaling workloads efficiently across all 20 cores.

Microsoft Power and Thermal Framework (MPTF) is enabled on RTX Spark, maximizing performance and power efficiency.

RTX Spark leverages advancements in DirectX 12 for neural rendering and optimized ray tracing.

Unified Memory and Prism Enhancements

Windows now supports a higher limit on total system memory accessible by the GPU to leverage the 128GB of unified memory.

Improved page size management enhances performance on memory-intensive workloads.

Prism, the emulator for x86 apps on Windows on Arm, is optimized for RTX Spark with improved performance and compatibility, including AVX/AVX2 instruction set support.

A Better Platform for Agents with Windows on RTX Spark

Windows is optimized for building and running agents securely, with OS-enforced identity, containment, and manageability.

NVIDIA is bringing NVIDIA OpenShell to Windows, built on new Windows security primitives.

Hermes Agent and OpenClaw will integrate OpenShell, allowing users to run agents locally without cloud reliance.

Ecosystem Support for RTX Spark

Microsoft and NVIDIA have partnered with app developers to optimize apps for Arm-based devices and RTX Spark.

Creative tools like Blender, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Photoshop now run natively on Arm with optimizations for RTX Spark.

Technical apps like MATLAB now officially support Windows on Arm.

Gaming on RTX Spark

Native anti-cheat solutions like Epic’s Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye are supported, along with expanded Prism emulator compatibility and XBOX PC app support.

Riot Games is bringing League of Legends and VALORANT to the platform.

PUBG: Battlegrounds will also be available.

What to Watch Next

Expect to see the continued rollout of quality-focused updates throughout the year to further enhance the performance and reliability of Windows 11, including improvements to core experiences, WSL, and system reliability. Keep an eye on announcements from Microsoft Build for more on developing and deploying agents on the Windows platform.
