Box Office Divergence

According to trade website Sacnilk, 'Cocktail 2' collected Rs 5 crore nett on its sixth day in theatres. This figure represents a noticeable dip from its Monday and Tuesday collections, which both stood at Rs 6.75 crore nett.

The film had achieved its highest single-day collection on Sunday, raking in Rs 17.75 crore nett. Its total India gross collection has now reached Rs 76.64 crore, with the India nett collection at Rs 66 crore.

Despite the recent slowdown, 'Cocktail 2' has surpassed the lifetime India nett collections of Ayushmann Khurrana’s 'Pati Patni Aur Woh Do', which earned Rs 51.35 crore nett.

'Main Vaapas Aaunga' Gains Traction

Meanwhile, 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' is maintaining a robust box office run in its second week. After a slow start post its June 12 release, the film has seen a significant surge due to strong audience reception.

Sacnilk reported that the film collected Rs 2.60 crore nett in India on its second Wednesday. This brings its domestic total to Rs 32.45 crore.

While Wednesday's collection was lower than Tuesday's Rs 3.10 crore nett, it remained higher than Monday's Rs 2.50 crore nett. The film had a strong first week, earning Rs 12.25 crore nett, and demonstrated impressive growth over its second weekend with Rs 1.90 crore nett on Friday, Rs 4.35 crore nett on Saturday, and Rs 5.75 crore nett on Sunday.

'Main Vaapas Aaunga' has now outperformed the lifetime India nett collection of 'Chand Mera Dil', which grossed Rs 29.09 crore nett following its May 22 theatrical release.

'Cocktail 2', a standalone sequel to the 2012 hit, stars Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon. It follows college sweethearts Kunal and Diya, played by Kapoor and Mandanna, as their relationship is tested during a Sicily holiday with Diya's friend Ally (Sanon).

The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, Pramita R. Vijan, and Ankur Garg. Its music is composed by Pritam, with lyrics primarily by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

'Main Vaapas Aaunga', written and directed by Imtiaz Ali, features Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina in lead roles. Supporting cast includes Banita Sandhu, Rajat Kapoor, Sanjay Suri, Anjana Sukhani, and Danish Pandor.
