Congress MLAs Arif Masood and Atif Akil questioned the rationale of reviewing development works without the new Master Plan being in effect. This led to a heated exchange, with both MLAs eventually walking out of the meeting.

Presiding over the meeting, Member of Parliament Alok Sharma emphasized the need for faster execution of development projects and improved coordination among various departments.
He specifically instructed officials to maintain transparency and efficiency, stating that negligence in development works will not be tolerated.
"Bhopal is continuously expanding in terms of population and area. Therefore, the timely implementation of the Master Plan is essential for the city's planned development," stated MP Alok Sharma.
Sharma announced his intention to meet Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav soon with other public representatives to urge for the Master Plan's expedited approval.
Ambitious Development Projects Under Scrutiny
Discussions also covered the progress of the Amrut-2 scheme, funded by ₹582 crore from the Central government, focusing on drinking water, sewage, and water conservation projects.
The MP expressed concern over repeated road excavations causing inconvenience to citizens and stressed the importance of coordinating development plans with local representatives.
The delay in the nullah construction at Alpana Square also drew strong criticism.
Smart City Projects Face Questions, Solutions Proposed
Concerns were raised about the Smart City project, with MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani highlighting deficiencies in basic amenities across several projects.
Mayor Malti Rai voiced her disappointment over the delayed resolution of issues like street lighting. MP Sharma suggested the establishment of a nodal agency to enhance inter-departmental coordination.
Bhojpal Wetland Authority Approved to Safeguard Water Resources
A significant decision made during the meeting was the unanimous approval of a proposal to form the Bhojpal Wetland Authority.

"Bhopal is recognized by its lakes and wetlands. We are sending a proposal to the state government to declare Bhopal as a 'Wetland City'," informed MP Alok Sharma.
