Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has sought to finally move past his high-profile divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma, addressing the persistent cheating allegations and media speculation that have dogged him for months. In a candid conversation with Hindustan Times, Chahal insisted that he has no interest in revisiting the past and wants to leave the drama behind.
“I am a sportsperson, and I do not cheat. If someone had cheated within the first two months, would the relationship have lasted for 4.5 years? For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted,” Chahal said.
On the Allegations
Chahal clarified that despite Dhanashree’s earlier claims of infidelity—where she allegedly suggested she “caught him” in the second month of their relationship—the cricketer maintains that the rumours are false.
“Social media runs on 100 stories, but the truth is only one. Those who matter know it. I don’t want to address this ever again,” he said, emphasizing that he has moved forward with his life.
The leg-spinner also noted that while Dhanashree continues to reside in a property linked to him, it no longer concerns him. “They can continue running the house in my name. I am not affected or concerned,” he added.

Chahal described his focus on life post-divorce, saying he is currently single and ready to leave the controversy behind.
“I have forgotten this chapter of my life. Whatever people say on social media doesn’t define me. I’ve always been loyal and respectful, especially toward the people I care about,” he remarked, underlining his commitment to integrity both on and off the field.
